Second and Third Grade Birds on a Branch
Here are a few final projects of our printed leaves on a branch. The finishing touch was drawing a bird with oil pastels and cutting it out and gluing it to the leaf and branch background.
K/1 Line and Color Wheel Studies
Students read the book Lines That Wiggle which inspired them to create so many different types of lines. Part two of our project was to learn about our friend of the color wheel, ROY G BIV. We tried to paint the in between sections or negative space between our lines following our mini color wheels.
Third Grade Cityscapes
Third grade students created these cityscapes by first creating either a warm or cool colored chalk sky. After completing the sky background the architecture began. We looked at pictures of famous sky scrapers and other city scenes from American cities and then drew buildings of all shapes and sizes.
Fourth Grade Water Inspired Prints
Fourth Grade students after viewing the work of the Japanese artist Hokusai, then did sketches for their prints. The prints needed to show water and movement and after doing a series of prints, students selected and mounted their best one.
