Kindergarten and first grade learned about the artist Piet Mondrian. We discussed his use of line in his work and the color palette he uses. Students made the connection that he uses primary colors, plus black and white. I love how different each piece turned out as each student began with the same materials. The requirement was to use all of the primary colors, plus black and white in any amount. Students then manipulated paper strips to create these Mondrian Masterpieces.
