Fourth graders learned how to form rectangular prisms as the basic shape for a clay cottage. We discussed architectural details they could add and how to do this with clay so pieces stay attached. We were also fortunate to have student intern Olivia Fontaine, a UVM student join us last trimester and for several hours each week and we are looking forward to having her join us full time as a student teacher for the spring semester. Olivia is a graduate of Summit, Fleming, ADL and EHS so she is coming full circle as she completes her education degree. Our tiny cottages are awaiting a trip to the kiln and will be painted very soon.
